Music for Wednesday 11 September

Hey up folks, the Honourable Uketator Mick is unable to attend this Wednesday evening's Swingalele meeting due to attending a granddaughter's 18 birthday. Nothing takes precedence over that. So I will step into his big shoes for the night.  After the thrilling success of our performance at Springs into Corrimal, which forecasts supreme success at the Springstrum, we will continue to run through the numbers - “Bohemian Rhapsody / Radio Ga Ga”, “Son of a Preacher Man” (308), “Looking Out My Back…See More

Spring Into Corrimal

Posted by Neville Collins on September 8, 2019 at 20:59 0 Comments

Congratulations to our core group of Swingaleles who performed at Spring Into Corrimal today.  We played and sang with gusto!  Also, well done Unkle Cyril and his small band who didn't miss a beat during the official parade.  It was great that Unk was able to put in a plug to the large number of patrons, inviting them to come along to our Springstrum Festival too.  As they sing in the old "Newcastle Song", never let a chance go by (to spread the word).

My Dear Swingaleles

This Sunday we are playing once again at “Spring Into Corrimal “.We always treat this popular festival as a warmup for our own “SpringStrum festival. With this in mind we will play in this order “Bohemian Rhapsody / Radio Ga Ga”, “Son of a Preacher Man” (308), “Looking Out My Back Door”(272), “Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy”(370A), “In The Mood”(367C). We will see how we go on “The Letter” on Wednesday night to see if we can keep that as a spare along with “Islands in…

My beloved Swingaleles

After many sleepless nights, and numerous consultations with various members with different tastes in music, we will pick our program for “Spring Into Corrimal “ and “Spring Strum” from the following songs, not necessarily in this order. Bohemian Rhapsody/Radio Ga Ga, Jambalaya (364), Son Of A Preacher Man(308), C Jam Blues ( 372A), In The Mood (367C), Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy (370A), Chattanooga Choo Choo (375? In C), Looking Out My Backdoor (272), Islands In…
